Jilly does PADI!

Day 14 - Home sweet Home

Thank you rain for holding out long enough for me to get a bit of sunbathing in. But its time to pack my bags and leave Kota Kinabalu. Yes I had to sit on my case to get it to zip up, I know we had alot of pressies but I am sure I didnt come with this much stuff, did it reproduce in the cupboard??? Although I did some how end up with 3 divemaster manuals at the auction of the PADI materials. And I think the postcard I got for my mum might just be the thing that tips the scales!!!

At the airport I try to put my bag on the scale and look like it is easy - why I dont know cos they gonna weight it anyway! oops I arrived with 23Kg and going with 29Kg. I figured I had blagged it on the way out maybe I can blag it on way back. So I told the lady I had rung Air Asia yesterday and the lady on the phone upgraded my luggage - true I did ring but she actually said there was no way to upgrade my luggage because I had booked my flights before 15 Jan so I would have to pay at airport, but its worth a try!! - The lady at check in clicks on her computer a few times then tells me pretty much all of our phone conversation yesterday, captured!!! Sorry it was a bad line I couldnt hear her very well the phone was really bad heheeh (iIdid say that during the phone conversation ) so £40 later I am goning on the plane. Well thats not so bad considering what I had got away with so far!

In KK Internatonal airport I find Garry who is going business class and I had already decided I would treat myself and upgrade, the price was £200 er nope not doing that I mean its an Egypt air flight its not like I get free alcohol all the way home. And anyway when we got off the plane Garry was boasting about how good his food was hahahaah Garry you had the sme as me you just got it on plates with real knives and forks!

On check in the ladies in Malaysia told us we would have to come out of the airport in Cairo and go back in to check in but she would send our luggage all the way through aarrr bliss I dont have to try to lift that bag. When we get off the plane I say to Garry do we really trust Egypt Air to get those bags to the next plane or do we just check - A woman should never listen to a man and should trust her instincts!!! We had to come out of thearrival hall and get a bus to the departre hall. its 6.30 in the morning and our plane leaves at 8.00. We go t check in the guy there says where is our luggage. Its been sent through from the other palne we say. No we dont do that you are going to have to go back and get them - WHAT!!! why didnt I listen to myself aarrgghhh. Outside we ask what time is the next bus back 7.30 damn taxi then 25 le we get charged for a 5 min trip - whatever!! just get me to my bags. The bags are off the carosel and about to be labelled as lost property. Outside we grab another taxi he wants $40 not a chance 5 mins round the corner do we have tourist written across our heads?? I think so, another25 le and we are back in time for our flight HAHA Egypt Air you cant get me that way! Landing in Sharm and its bloody cold But its so nice to be back in my front room again, Jet lag here I come. The washing is in the machine, my dive kit is in its box and there are manuals scattered all over the front room but do I care NO I want my bed.

So thats it I am home no more rain, no more classrooms with freezing AC, the breathing tape can go in the bin or does someone want to borrow it? And the pictures are going on facebook.

As with any speach I think a few thank yous are in order firstly to Clare for allowing me to write yet another Divebunnie diary - what am I gonna do next I need to think up another course maybe a quickie report of my first IDC. Or maybe I have to go skydiving next, its still diving right? And thanks for being on the end of facebook when I was having my bad days and in need of a friend to blow of steam at - cheers girl - and helping with ShowMe The Money even though we didnt win. Bianca and Garry I am no longer your mum, but you were great travelling partners and it was great to have some friends around on the course.
