Newest DiveBunnie, on the team Gemma has just experienced the Ocean College's "Zero to Hero" Internship. A three month course where we take a rescue diver (or sometimes even a keen Advanced Open Water diver) all the way through their Divemaster course and on into their Instructor Course.
Gemma 25, originally comes from Southampton and first learned to dive back in 2007. She did a classic Open Water Referral course where all the confined pool sessions and class work was completed in the UK before heading out somewhere warm to complete the Open Water dives. Slightly preferrable to some than heading into a nippy UK quarry. Gemma completed her course in Shark's Bay, Sharm el Sheikh. Fully intending to dive again, she didn't get around to it for another two years, when she came to Ocean College and completed the inevitable Scuba Review before embarking on her Advanced Open Water course with one the instructors here Hassan.
Of course this is all now history, as she has taken the plunge to go one step further down the line (or quite a few steps in fact!)
So after completing her Divemaster training with Jilly, and a few weeks' experience building, it was time for Gemma to embark on the IDC (Instructor Development Course). Follow her course here day by day:
