Far Garden

Unlike other local dives, this site does not have so much of a sandy plateau. There is an initial sloping drop to around 10M, with a narrow sloping sandy strip running its lenth. Along this strip, you will find plenty of coral pinnacles full of life to investigate. Some really close to the reef wall, creating cool little inlets, and others dotted along the steeper drop off. We often do this dive as a drift as the currents can pick up with the route taking us out along a headland that jutts out into deeper water. As such there is always the potential for a surprise visit here. We usually drop in by the hotel's floating jetty and head out towards the headland gently drifitng with the current. Shallow or deeper, it is always an interesting dive, with plenty of small life clustered around the pinnacles to keep you interested, even if you don't get any passing big stuff. In summer we sometimes get manta rays out off this reef, and always plenty of jack fish and snappers flying around. Very cool stuff.

It was here that I saw my first ever dolphin during a dive! What an amazing experience, that was over in seconds, but will be remembered for years.
