Middle Garden

Middle Garden is located right in front of the Hyatt Hotel and is a long stretch of reef hosting three permanent moorings.

It is usually done as a mooring dive, although sometimes in the afternoon, we will do a drift dive that runs from the most Southern point of Middle Garden, back around the corner to Near Garden.

The three moorings vary slightly in their specifics, with the sandy plateau being really quite wide on the middle mooring. All along, the initiall drop off is a 6M wall with the plateau sloping from there to around 12M followed by a gentler sloping drop off to depth. Like other local sites, this drop off is dotted with interesting, pretty pinnacles, one of which was host to an ornate ghost pipe fish for a few weeks last summer, along with the usual glass fish, anthias anenomes etc. In fact this dive has gradually started to gain its own name Milf due to its location between Middle and Fiddle (and a tiny bit of tongue in cheek there too hehe) Because of the white sand and clarity of the water, the colours of the coral areas do really stand out. You might also spot clusters of nudibranchs shuffling along the sandy patches.
